In the first quarter of 2021, sandbox games continued to entertain and engage users across Europe on the iOS platform. Data provided by Sensor Tower gives us a glimpse into the top performers in this category.

Roblox, published by Roblox Corporation, showed a consistent revenue stream throughout the quarter, starting at around $3.3M and closing with approximately $2.6M in the last week of March. Downloads began at 316K and saw a slight decrease to 225K, while weekly active users peaked at 5.15M towards the end of March, indicating a robust and active player base.

Despite not generating revenue, MultiCraft ― Build and Mine! maintained a steady download rate, kicking off the quarter with around 64K downloads and ending with approximately 58K. Weekly active users saw a slight rise from 286K to 300K, showcasing the game's ability to keep players engaged without monetization.

Electronic Arts' The Sims™ FreePlay experienced a revenue trend starting at $154K and dipping to roughly $125K by the end of Q1. Downloads spiked in February, reaching 73K, while weekly active users climbed from 262K to 310K, reflecting a loyal user base for this long-standing franchise.

Block Craft 3D: Building Games saw modest revenue figures, beginning at $8.6K and concluding the quarter with around $7K. The game's downloads hovered in the 50K-60K range, and weekly active users remained stable, indicating a consistent level of interest among sandbox enthusiasts.

Lastly, TSM Game, also from Electronic Arts, showed revenues starting at $82K and ending the quarter at nearly $47K. Downloads peaked in late December at 84K and settled around 38K by the end of March. Weekly active users demonstrated a slight downtrend, starting at 216K and reducing to approximately 150K.
